Few family members of the cast took part in the production of Caroline in the City.
Lea Thompson's husband, Howard Deutch, was director of some of the episodes of Caroline in the City.
Eric Lutes at that time wife (Christine Romeo) and Amy Pietz future husband (Kenneth Alan Williams) played in episode Caroline and the Bridesmaids. Christine Romeo also played in episode Caroline and the Novelist.
In Caroline and the Free Cable episode the part of Little Girl was played by Rosemary La Grua, a relative of Tom La Grua, who played Remo.

On June 19th, 2026 the director James Burrows, died aged 85. During his long career he won 11 Primetime Emmy Awards and five Directors Guild of America Awards. Apart from directing 21 episodes of Caroline in the City, he was co-creator of Cheers and directed several well-known sitcoms (Taxi, Friends, Wings, Will & Grace, Mike & Molly, Frasier).
